Border care and weeding around Newark — the difference between a cut garden and a cared-for one.

Anyone can cut a lawn. The borders are what tell you whether a garden is actually being looked after.

We clear beds out properly — weeds out at the root rather than skimmed off the top — then edge cleanly where the border meets the lawn and mulch to hold moisture and keep the weeds down. Overgrown shrubs get cut back into shape rather than just hacked at, and anything worth keeping stays.

It's also the work that makes the biggest difference to how a garden reads from the house. A crisp edge between a mown lawn and a dark mulched bed does more for a garden than almost anything else you can do in an afternoon.

The guys cut back some very overgrown shrubs and reduced the width of a ridiculously thick privet hedge for me. They were professional, polite and efficient, did a great job and left no mess behind. I’d definitely use them again.

Frequently asked questions

Far less if they're taken out at the root and the bed is mulched afterwards. Skimming the tops off looks good for a fortnight and no longer, which is why we don't do it that way.
